The two tracks on this 45 are the Czech versions of songs that share a
somewhat similar story Löffler’s music – long forgotten then rediscovered
to enthuse music fans once again. The first track is I’d Rather Go Blind
originally interpreted by Etta James. It featured in a movie about the
celebrated Chess Records label, Cadillac Records, where it was
performed by Beyoncé and again gained on popularity. The second
track, Sugar man by Sixto Rodriguez, was the leading song in a
documentary that introduced Sixto to the new generations.

The studio band coming together just for the recording named themselves after the vocalist´s name – Annamária & Její Kapela (meaning Annamária & Her Band in English). The record was released recently in a limited edition of 500 copies.

The instrumental version on the B side was recorded spontaneously when the musicians were jamming in the studio and it draws an inspiration from old surf albums.

You can find the song Tip, Tip, Tip on the A side – a never released Czech cover of the Otis Redding’ s Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa (Sad Song), that was recorded by Joromír Löffler and Flamingo shortly before Mr Löffler emigrated to Switzerland. The original master was lost so we had to use an analog reel tape copy. The sound quality of the song may have been influenced by the state in which the tape was, however we have managed to make it sound great. On the B side you can find a very little known Czech version of the James Brown’ s tune It´s a Man’ s Man’s Man’s World taken from an original master tape of the Czech Radio archive. Both of the songs are remastered.
